Family Study & Children's Library

The Family Study & Children’s Library is located in room 201 on the 2nd floor of the Portland Library & Learning Center building at the UO Portland Northeast Campus. This space is intended for use by children under the age of 14 when accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver. Study tables and equipment are provided in the space to allow university students a place to study with their children.

Parents and caregivers are responsible for the safety, comfort, and behavior of their children while in the library. The library does not provide childcare, and childcare is not the library's role. Please make sure your child comes to the library with a responsible adult. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a caregiver at all times.

This space is open to community members with their children. We welcome students from Faubion School who are age 12 and older to utilize library spaces and services on their own while maintaining good behavior, low voices, and using spaces for their intended purpose.

This room may also be used at times for activities sponsored by academic programs and university services including community events such as Family Storytime. The room is not reserved for individuals and will be available for access during open library service desk hours.

Materials located in the Family Study & Children’s Library are generally geared for readers up to age 14 with young adult materials interfiled in the main collections. Books in the Children’s Library and other collections may be checked out for home use by community members with a registered Oregon Card (age 16 and over, limit 10 items). Photo ID is required with each transaction.
