DeFazio Exhibit Intern

Special Collections and University Archives (SCUA) seeks a student to aid in curating an exhibit documenting the career of Congressman Peter DeFazio. 

Join SCUA this academic year as an intern, and help curate an exhibit on one of Oregon's most prominent politicians. 

The Peter A. DeFazio Exhibit intern will aid in curating an exhibit documenting the career of Congressman PeterDeFazio. The intern will work on a piece of the exhibit concerning Oregon tribal affairs.Under the direction of a Special Projects Archivist in Special Collections and University Archives (SCUA), the intern willgain experience using archival materials to tell the story of Peter DeFazio’s congressional career. With the guidance of the Special Projects Archivist, the intern will select materials from the collection and draft captions and otherinterpretive text for use in a 2027 exhibit on Peter DeFazio.

Regular duties will include researching Congressman DeFazio’s legislative record and accomplishments; drafting exhibit captions, object labels, and interpretive text; working with physical and digital archival materials; collaborating with SCUA staff on exhibit design and preservation requirements and draft outreach materials for a general audience

Intern will work ten-fifteen hours a week, between 9am-5pm Monday-Friday. Hourly compensation $17.50.
