Library Diversity Fund

Did you know that the UO Libraries Diversity Committee (LDC) has a fund to help pay for DEIA-themed materials to add to the Libraries’ collections for all to access? Any member of the University community (students, staff, faculty, etc.) can submit requests to purchase materials using this fund.

Annually, the Library Diversity Committee has approximately $1,500 dedicated to help buy books and other items for research and other scholarly work or for popular reading or kid lit. These can include, touch on, explore, or otherwise reflect themes of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility or can be authored by people in, from, or about underrepresented communities.

Some examples of previous requests include:

  • Stay Woke: A People's Guide to Making All Black Lives Matter
  • The Person You Mean to Be
  • Don't Hug Doug
  • None of the Above: Reflections on Life Beyond the Binary
  • Privilege, Power, and Difference

To suggest an item for purchase, use this form. Be sure to provide the title, author, ISBN, price, format, and notes.
