Copyright Statement
The Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries are authorized to create a photocopy or other reproduction of copyrighted material for its patrons or the patrons of other libraries. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research. If a patron submits a request for and later uses a photocopy or reproduction provided by a library for purposes in excess of fair use, they may be liable for copyright infringement. UO Libraries reserves the right to refuse to submit duplication requests to other libraries if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would result in a violation of copyright law. Employees in Resource Sharing strive to ensure ILL requests comply with this policy and copyright statement and work directly with requesting patrons or cancel requests if there are questions or concerns about a request.
