Give to UO Libraries

Every student. Every major. Every campus.

The UO Libraries plays a crucial role in all teaching, learning, and research activities on campus and in the broader preservation of the human knowledge and cultural record. From the UO Portland Library to the Knight Library at the heart of campus in Eugene, each of our seven libraries contributes to creating knowledge and promoting excellence in all academic pursuits. A gift to the UO Libraries has the broadest possible impact on campus because we serve all students and faculty across all schools, colleges, and disciplines.

There are many opportunities to support the University of Oregon Libraries. Learn more about the ways you can impact student success and faculty research.

"Your generous donation has allowed me to gain real-world work experience as a student worker here at the University of Oregon Libraries. I feel very fortunate that I am able to work a job on campus that also aligns with my interests."

“I work in Special Collections and University Archives (SCUA) and had the privilege of processing papers from UO track star Bill McChesney, Jr. I’m happy to report that his collection was used by a researcher only days after I finished processing it."

Create Lasting Impact

One of the most meaningful ways you can invest in the UO Libraries is through annual unrestricted gifts. Gifts to the Library Fund provide the maximum flexibility to address immediate and high-priority needs and to leverage other resources.

Library Fund

Each year, Special Collections and University Archives acquires thousands of unique manuscripts, books, photographs, and other printed materials, which are vital to the research efforts of students and scholars both nationally and internationally. Help us purchase and preserve rare collections and archives that will be accessed for years to come.

Special Collections and University Archives Fund

The Library Coaches'Fund supports the library's greatest priorities, including technology, collections, student employees, and athletics archival program.

Build Your Legacy

You can make financial contributions in a variety of ways to express the type of impact you’d like to have. In addition to straightforward gifts, other options to consider are:

Make an outright gift or a multi-year pledge
This can be through a check/credit card, a stock transfer, or a distribution from a retirement account.
Create a permanent endowment with a major gift
An endowment gift provides the UO Libraries annual income in perpetuity. You could name the endowment after yourself, your family, or in memory of a loved one.
Make an estate gift
Write the UO Libraries into your will or make us the beneficiary of a retirement account.

Please contact the Libraries development team to learn more. However you choose to give, you can be assured that you are truly making a difference. We thank you

What's exciting about the future of the UO Libraries is its ability to help students think critically and act intelligently in the face of a plethora of information, resources, and tools in a demanding and rapidly changing world. This requires an increased acquisition of new resources and investment in human capital, advanced technologies, and re-imagined facilities.
