The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is delighted to welcome University of Oregon Libraries Special Collections and University Archives (SCUA) as its newest Associate Member, joining a global community working to ensure long-term access to digital materials.

SCUA preserves and provides access to unique archival materials documenting the history of the University of Oregon, the region and a wide range of research communities. Its membership reflects an ongoing commitment to strengthening digital preservation practice.

"Aligning University of Oregon Libraries with the DPC ensures that our organization remains accountable and our effort to preserve digital material that is of long-term value for research and learning remains sustainable”, says Giustina Director of Special Collections and University Archives Sammie Morris. “Membership will allow us to address the significant challenges of digital preservation with the support of a community of practice and maintain our commitment to stay apprised of the rapid changes affecting our field."

Anna Perricci, Head of DPC Americas, welcomed UO Libraries to the Coalition, saying: “The team in Eugene brings valuable perspectives on caring for a diverse range of digital materials. SCUA’s focus on developing sustainable and forward-looking practices aligns closely with the DPC’s mission and we are pleased to support their next steps. We look forward to working with them and further strengthening the collective work of the Coalition to advance digital preservation.”
