About the RAVE Lab

The Reality Augmentation and Virtual Experiences (RAVE) Lab provides access to cutting-edge educational technologies for all UO students, faculty, and staff. In this inclusive space, you can explore immersive 360° virtual environments, from historical landmarks and outer space to ocean reefs and anatomical structures. Whether you're here to learn, play, or create, the RAVE Lab welcomes you to discover its resources and encourages you to request additional content or equipment to enhance your experience.

Accessing and Using the RAVE Lab

Policies and Safety Quiz
 
To access the RAVE Lab and its equipment, start by reviewing lab policies and completing the required safety quiz. The quiz includes three multiple-choice questions, takes about five minutes, and can be retaken until you score 100%.

Lab Training
 
After completing the Safety Quiz, schedule a 30-minute training to learn how to use the RAVE Lab's equipment, including the Valve Index headset, which requires a free Steam account. Lab reservations made before training will be canceled if the session is not successfully completed.

Reserve Time in the Lab
 
After completing the safety quiz and training, you can book the RAVE Lab for up to four hours. Check out the room key at the PSC front desk with your student ID; guests are welcome but cannot use equipment unless they’ve met access requirements.
