Room Policies and Guidelines

UO Portland Library rooms and spaces are guided by compliance with library and university policies. Specific room use guidelines are posted outside each room. For details related to room use and maintaining a scholarly environment, please refer to Library User Rights and Responsibilities.

The UO Portland Library and Learning Commons maintains several rooms and spaces available for classes, student use, research, and open study. Priority use of the library rooms is for University of Oregon students, instructors, and academic support providers. Spaces within the library are available during regular library hours by reservation, for drop-in use when not reserved and special use outside library hours with advanced planning.

For room details and a complete list of common study spaces at UO Portland, please visit the UO Portland Library Rooms & Spaces page.

Spaces maintained by UO Libraries are available via same day and advanced bookings handled through our automated room reservation system, LibCal. Advanced room requests may also be emailed to pdxinfo@uoregon.edu, for approval by Library staff. Individual students and student groups may use these rooms for drop-in study by asking at the library service desk. Most open area seating, study tables and computer workstations are first-come use.

To inquire about reserve use of UO Portland rooms and spaces located outside the library, please consult with UO Portland Event Services. Current students may seek direct use of select UO Portland rooms by completing the Study Room Request Form. This includes some event spaces, conference rooms and classrooms located throughout the UO Portland campus.
