Franny Gaede joined the University of Oregon Libraries in August 2017. As part of the Digital Publishing and Pedagogy unit in the Department of Open Research, she helps design, lead, and complete projects in support of the Libraries' goals, including outreach initiatives, training programs, and platform development and management.
She provides consultation and support for open access journal publishing, so if you're a journal editor interested in creating a new journal, converting an existing journal to open access, or bringing a journal to UO infrastructure, please reach out! Franny is part of the team that teaches the DSCI 350M/LIB350M course required for the Digital Humanities minor and the cultural analytics concentration in the Data Science major. She is also one of the copyright experts in the Libraries and the subject liaison for Public Planning, Policy, and Management (PPPM).
Her research interests include open access and social justice, digital project sustainability, and the library as workplace.
