About Requesting

Please note: On December 28, 2022, UO Libraries stopped using ILLiad to manage and track Interlibrary Loan (ILL) requests. Moving forward, ILL borrowers will discover resources not available in the UO Libraries collection, request those resources through ILL, monitor ILL request statues, and download and renew ILL material all from within LibrarySearch. ILL borrowers will no longer need to manage some ILL requests in ILLiad and others in LibrarySearch. Everything related to ILL will be seamlessly integrated into LibrarySearch resulting in an overall improved user experience.

Although ILL borrowers will not be able to submit new borrowing requests in ILLiad, they will be able to access their accounts through June 2023 to ensure that all outstanding ILLiad requests are completed, and ILLiad users have sufficient time to download their request histories if they choose.

Please see the Requesting at UO Libraries research guide for more information, https://researchguides.uoregon.edu/requesting, or email David Ketchum, Director of Access Services at dketchum@uoregon.edu

There are a variety of reasons and ways one might request materials. Common examples include retrieving materials the UO owns for your research or education needs, and accessing digital or physical content from other libraries that UO does not own.

Please see the Requesting at UO Libraries research guide for instructions on how to submit requests for library material, https://researchguides.uoregon.edu/requesting

Requesting UO Material

Books and AV Material

UO faculty, students, and staff can request to have available material paged and sent to their preferred branch library pickup location, Campus Office Delivery (faculty only), or home address provided in Banner (UO Online & Distance Education faculty/students only). AV material may also be booked for classroom use. Checked out material may also be requested. Please note that not all library material is requestable.

Journal Articles and Book Chapters - Scan & Deliver

Library users can also request print journal articles and book chapters to be scanned and emailed directly to them. This service is free to UO faculty, students, and staff. Look for the Scan & Deliver option under "Get it" when using LibrarySearch.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Library borrowers can request books, AV material, journal articles, and book chapters from libraries worldwide. Look for the "Request from other libraries" options in Library Search. ILL borrowing is free for UO faculty, students, and staff. (2/15/2023: ILL is only available to current UO employees and students at this time.) There is a $15 charge per fulfilled request for non-UO Community members, e.g., Oregon Card holders and members of the Alumni Association.
