About Requesting

Requesting Library Material

Need books, book chapters, articles or AV for your instruction or research? There are several UO Libraries services to get research materials to you physically or digitally. The Requesting at UO Libraries research guide has detailed instructions on how to submit requests for library materials.

Pickup or Return at Any UO Library

Use the "Get It" button within LibrarySearch to have a UO Libraries physical item sent to the UO campus library that is most convenient for you. Not all library materials are eligible for this service.

Scan & Deliver

UO faculty, students, and staff can request article or chapter scans from UO print journals and books using the Scan & Deliver service. Look for the Scan & Deliver option under "Get it" when using LibrarySearch.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Use ILL to request books, AV material, journal articles, and book chapters that UO does not own from libraries worldwide. Look for the "Request from other libraries" options in your LibrarySearch results.

Home Delivery

The Home Delivery option for UO and ILL physical items can be selected as a Pickup Location during the request creation process. Home delivery of library items is only available to the following UO user groups:

  • Current faculty that live more than 30 miles from campus and are not on campus regularly
  • Current UO Students that live more than 30 miles from campus and are not on campus regularly
  • UO Online Students
  • UO users with disabilities or special circumstances that prevent campus library pickup

Faculty Office Delivery

UO Faculty at the Eugene campus may choose Office Delivery for their ILL or UO Libraries items. The Office Delivery option can be selected as a Pickup Location during the request process.
