Portland Library Room Use Guidelines

Room Availability

  • UO Portland Library study rooms are limited for use only by current UO students, staff, and faculty.
    • Alumni, visiting researchers, and community members are welcome to use all open area study tables and booths. 
    • Select study rooms will have blackout periods reserved for class breakout sessions.
  • Study rooms and select conference rooms are available for first-come student access during the current day between listed reservations.
    • Tap the Reserve button on the digital door sign located outside each room and enter details. 
  • For advanced reservations, visit UO Libraries Rooms & Spaces to place a reservation outside the current day.
  • Study rooms and select conference rooms are available for use during all open building hours, even when the library service desk is closed.
  • Open study areas and TalkBox booths are available to all library visitors on a first-come basis, during all open building hours. 
  • The Children's Library (PLLC Room 201) is open and available only during service desk hours. 
  • Use of classrooms, event spaces, and select conference rooms requires advanced reservation with UO Portland Scheduling and Event Services

Usage Guidelines

  • Please maintain a scholarly environment at all times throughout all library spaces.
  • Study rooms are intended for individual and group study related to academic activities.
  • Time limits for individuals or groups is generally 4 hours per day.
  • Be mindful of noise levels and use of audio devices as many rooms are not soundproof. 
  • Drinks in closed containers and reasonable food are allowed; clean up and report spills.
