Design Library Research Help

Reference

Library staff on site can provide research assistance. Or, feel free to contact us via email at designlibrary@uoregon.edu.

For further research assistance, some options include:

  • Using the library chat help feature, typically staffed weekdays by local librarians.  You can locate this by clicking the "chat 24x7" link in the banner at the top of most library informational pages, or from the "ask us" link at the top of LibrarySearch pages.  While you may not find a librarian with specific Design expertise here, you may still get useful tips that make sense for many subject areas.
  • Checking for a research guide associated with your class or general subject area.  There is a list of particularly design-relevant research guides below.
  • Contacting Nancy Cunningham, Head of Arts & Humanities Liaisons (nancyc@uoregon.edu) or a Subject or Area Librarian.

Instruction

Design Library librarians routinely provide instruction in the use of information sources. In the ever changing world of information, such instruction is increasingly important. Instructors wanting library instruction for their classes should contact Nancy Cunningham at nancyc@uoregon.edu.

Research Guides

Many art and architecture subject guides are available to assist users in the library as well as those off-site. These guides identify basic resources in a discipline and focus on specific sources as well. There are several dozen guides in a variety of disciplines that identify core resources.
