Searching for Collections
All of SCUA's rare books and archival collections can be searched and requested via the UO Libraries catalog.
For detailed guides to our archival collections, you can search ArchivesSpace. With this discovery tool you can browse, search, and filter all of our unique materials (manuscripts, photographs, architectural drawings, audiovisual items, and university archives).
Each of our collections has a finding aid, which lists details about the materials and lists box and folder numbers. That physical storage information can help you identify boxes that are relevant to your project. The example below shows that information on Steve Prefontaine in the Bill Bowerman papers is located in Box 17, Folder 8.
Each finding aid contains a request button in the upper right-hand corner. This button links directly to the collection record in the UO Libraries catalog. There, you can follow our requesting instructions to request the relevant boxes. Requests must be placed at least five business days in advance of your visit. You will receive a hold shelf notice via email after each requested item is successfully retrieved.
