Portland Family Study & Children's Library

Location:Two views of the children's library including books on shelves, seating, and computer workstations

  • Portland Library & Learning Center, Room 201 (2nd Floor), UO Portland Campus.

Purpose:

  • For children accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver.
  • Provides study tables and equipment for university students with children.
  • Experiential learning space supporting Portland programs and local families.

Materials:

  • Books for readers up to age 14, with young adult materials located in the Popular Reading and main research collections.
  • Community members (age 16+) can check out up to 10 items with a registered Oregon Card and photo ID.

Room Use Guidelines:

  • Parents/caregivers are responsible for their children's safety and behavior.
  • The library does not offer childcare; children under 12 must be accompanied by a caregiver.
  • Open to community members with children and students from Faubion School (age 12+).
  • Use spaces responsibly, maintain low voices, and follow intended purposes.

Special Use:

  • Available for academic programs and community events.
  • Not reserved for individuals; open during library service desk hours.
