Most general collection print books and journals held by UO Libraries can be delivered to UO Portland Library within a few days.
- Be sure to select “UO Portland Library” as the pickup location when placing your request in the library catalog.
- Log in to your Library Account to check the status of your request.
- We’ll email you when items have arrived and are ready to pick up.
Current students, staff, and faculty may directly place requests for materials owned by other libraries. This includes items held by members of Orbis Cascade Alliance (Summit) member institutions and materials available worldwide through Interlibrary Loan. You may also request scans of articles and individual book chapters.
Whether the material you need is available at UO Libraries or at partner libraries worldwide, you can submit a request and we will try to get it for you! Portland Area Libraries
Portland is home to many nearby academic and special libraries of interest to UO Portland students and researchers:
- Portland State University Library lends most items freely to UO-affiliated users with a UO ID card. Items can be requested via Summit through the UO Libraries catalog.
- Multnomah County Library lends freely to residents of Multnomah, Clackamas, Washington and Hood River counties in Oregon; Clark, Skamania and Klickitat counties in Washington, including the cities of Woodland or Camas.
- Multnomah Law Library provides free on-site access to numerous databases. Borrowing privileges are available to members of the Oregon State Bar.
- Ninth Circuit Libraries, Portland are open to the public by appointment M-F from 9am-4pm.
- The Oregon Historical Society Research Library is open to any researcher, professional or non-professional, who is working on a specific research project.
- Pacific Northwest College of Art does not lend to non-PNCA users, but visitors may browse and use items in the Fine Arts Library. Items can be requested via Summit through the UO Libraries catalog.
- The Portland Art Museum does not lend, but users may browse and use items in the Crumpacker Family Library (no museum admission fee.)
- The City of Portland Archives & Records Management is located on the 5th Floor of the new Portland State University Academic & Student Recreation Center (ASRC) at 1800 SW 6th Ave. Suite 550.
- The Architectural Heritage Center is open for research purposes by appointment only. Contact the AHC if you have any questions about our library or wish to schedule a visit.
- The Genealogical Forum of Oregon research library is open to the public and has a large collection of library and online resources for the house historian.
