About the Science Library UO Science Library

The Price Science Commons & Research Library (541-346-3075), located in and under the courtyard surrounded by Willamette, Cascade, Onyx, and Klamath halls, houses most of the UO Libraries' print monographs related to the sciences of biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, and environmental studies as well as three experiential leaning spaces.

  • Journals are largely available through the library website, although a small print collection is housed off-site with articles or volumes available by request.  
  • We have science-specialist reference librarians available during weekday hours, and borrowing and information staff available all hours the library is open.
  • Staff associated with the makerspace, gaming center, and visualization lab are available weekdays and Sundays during daytime and evening hours.

Computer access

The Price Science Commons & Research Library has 

  • two internet-only workstations available for searching the library catalog and performing other internet searches
  • about 25 academic workstations with various licensed software which require a UO log-in. These workstations have additional software and hardware.  
  • three larger-than-average monitors for users who want to collaborate but have tiny laptop or tablet screens
  • six group study rooms with large HD monitors to facilitate group work.  These rooms may only be reserved by current UO employees and students.
  • self-service scanning (generally at no cost) and photocopying (see the printing and copying page for details on cost and method)

Staff from the Price Science Commons & Research Library also maintain and staff the Mathematics Library.  Materials can be paged from the Math collection to another branch as desired, or can be retrieved in person during the library's weekday academic term hours.
