A New Home for Video Materials in Knight Library

DVDs, VHS coming to the first floor

Beginning fall term 2018, UO Libraries is making a number of changes to streamline access to video content and prepare for large-scale renovations of the Knight Library’s Douglass Room during the summer of 2019. (The Douglass Room is on the third floor of the Knight Library, Room 365.)

Video material (DVDs, VHS, laserdiscs, etc.) currently housed in the Douglass Room will be moved down to the Knight Library’s first floor and will be available for checkout at the main circulation desk. Library users may also continue to place requests in LibrarySearch for these materials and have them delivered to the library pickup location of your choice. Alternately, materials may be delivered to a faculty office, or you can place requests at the Knight Checkout & Reserves Desk and obtain access to nearby viewing equipment, if needed.

Although library users will still be able to access and listen to audio content and receive related reference help in the Douglass Room, all borrowing/circulation services for audio materials (CDs, LPs, etc.) also will be moved to the central Checkout & Reserves Desk on the Knight Library’s first floor.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Eric Clark, Assistant Head, Access Services.
