Studio A (Knight Library 36) is optimized for specialized courses requiring surround sound, synchronous connections to other locations through videoconferencing, or recording.
The UO Libraries uses this room to support Library instruction, including courses where the curricula depend on proximity to Library materials and resources. Besides Library faculty and staff, CRN courses requiring surround sound, synchronous connections to other locations, or recordings, receive scheduling priority. Priority will then be given to CRN courses taught by members of the Provost's Teaching Academy. Time slots and classroom hours are reserved to support the Libraries core instructional mission, which necessarily is scheduled during the active term. For this reason, there is limited advanced scheduling of library classrooms.
Scheduling requests should be submitted to Melodie Moore, Information Services, at 6-1943, email@example.com.
The Libraries installs a standard suite of software on the resident Windows-based computer, intended to serve the needs of most groups using the classrooms, prior to the start of each academic term. Requests to install software not on this list must be received at least four (4) weeks prior to the start of the academic term, and the installation files, with verification of licensing, must be delivered to Library Systems, Knight Library, no later than two (2) weeks prior to the start of the term (i.e., before the first day of finals week of the current term). Unfortunately, the Libraries does not have a budget for purchasing software; obtaining software licenses for these classrooms for any software not on the standard list, unless it is freeware, is the responsibility of the requesting department.
The light and screen controls are located on the wall behind the podium.
There is an additional free-standing whiteboard in the room.
Please review the Basic Crestron System Instructions for operating the equipment in this classroom.
