Carravagio Insight Seminar Starts Jan. 5. Register Now.

An Insight Seminar taught by Jamie Harper on Caravaggio’s life and times will be offered beginning Saturday, January 5, and continuing each of the following three Saturdays: January 12, January 19, and January 26. For a description of the seminar content, visit

On Saturday, February 2, Marc Vanscheeuwijck, associate professor of musicology at the UO, will offer a half-day seminar on Carravaggio and the meaning of music in early 17th-century art. The seminar runs from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. in Knight Library’s Browsing Room with a fee of $45. Registration is required. Visit to register.

UO Insight Seminars, a program offered by the UO Libraries, were established in 2003 to provide an opportunity for the general public to re-engage with the liberal arts and experience the intellectual fulfillment that is the hallmark of a university education. Seminars are led by UO faculty who are expert in the topics. They provide formal study guides and lead college-level discussion of the materials for up to ten hours of class time.
