Copyright & Fair Use of Audiovisual materials

Videos are protected by copyright regulations. Use of these materials is limited to "face-to-face" teaching situations, where students and teachers are in a classroom together viewing the video. All other showings require permission from the holder of the rights.

It is the responsibility of the user, not UO Libraries, to investigate the procurement of such rights. Procuring public performance rights may incur a fee.

Users can consult a reference librarian for assistance. In addition, they may consult the following websites for information about those producers and distributors who commonly provide public performance rights  and those who almost never grant public performance rights.
