Aerial Photograph Time Series of the Historic White Stag Block in Portland

In the 1930’s aerial photography became a widespread mapping tool in the United States. A series of overlapping photographs would be taken, pointing straight down, from an airplane. Over the years, aerial photograph series would be re-flown of the same area. These photographs of the same area taken at different times document changes. They are a valuable tool in studying the development of an area. Below is an aerial photograph time series of the White Stag Block (housing the University of Oregon'’s Portland Programs) and the surrounding area.

To access the photographs, use our Aerial Photography Research Service which is free to most academic patrons. A small labor fee is charged for non-academic patrons. We may be contacted at 541-346-4565 or
