APRS: Aerial Photography Research Service
Creating a simple site map in Google Maps
This is a simple procedure to create site maps for research requests to the Map and Aerial Photography Research Service.
- Open Google Maps (link will open in a new window)
- Navigate to your site. Center your site in the Google Maps view, and zoom in until the view in Google Maps covers everything you want to see in the aerial photos.
In the above example, the site is the Park Blocks at 8th and Oak in Eugene. The view in Google Maps is zoomed in to only show the area required in the aerial photos.
- Click on the "Link" button in the upper right corner of the Google Maps window. Copy the link and paste it into the "Special Instructions" section of the online request form.
