Scanning and Copying Maps

Scanning

Please bring a USB memory device to save your scans.

  • Flatbed scanners (several 8.5" x 14" and two 11" x 17") are attached to computers in the Map Library and are available to anyone with a UO Login.  One flatbed scanner is attached to a public computer and may be used by anyone.
  • Book scanners located in the first floor copy room (around the corner) can capture map images up to 16"x24."

Copying

Black and White Photocopiers are available throughout the library.

Printing

Library printers can print up to 11" x 17" in color. The Libraries are not able to print a full-sized map. The College of Design's Output Room can print full-sized maps from electronic images.

Off Campus Access

Current faculty, staff, and students who are not able to come to the Eugene UO Campus may request to have materials scanned as part of our Aerial Photography Research Service (APRS).  Contact APRS staff about fees.

Non-University affiliated users and all commercial users may also use the APRS to request scans of maps that are in the public domain (that is, not subject to copyright).  Standard fees will apply.  Fees are charged to cover labor and equipment.
