FEMA Q3 Flood Data: Oregon Counties
National Flood Insurance Program
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has made the National Flood Hazard Layers (NFHL) available for free viewing and download in a number of ways. Only 28 of Oregon's 36 counties have GIS data available. If GIS data is not available for your area, you can still view and dowload the most recent Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) for your area, if it exists.
NFHL on FEMA GeoPlatform allows you to search for a location, view current data, and download both current county GIS data in shapefile format and download images of individual FIRM maps.
FEMA also maintains NHFL Web Mapping Services (WMS).
National Flood Hazard Layer (NFHL) Status page allows you to search by county or state and download available gis data for counties.
The University of Oregon Libraries are no longer making the September 1998 Q3 Flood Data from Disk II of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), National Flood Insurance Program's Q3 Flood Data available online because it is not the most recent Flood Hazard Data Available. However, if you want to use the 1998 data, it is still available on disc in the Map & Aerial Photography Library (GB1399.3 .N38 1998 disc 2). The digital data from the Q3 disk is in three formats: DLG, ArcInfo .e00 and MapInfo. Each file is been zipped and includes metadata.
