Whether it is finding a space to meet for a group project, a one-time classroom session, or computers to use Photoshop, the Library Commons (LC) is available to you. Below are the facilities and technology that we support.

Blackboard

Blackboard is the course management system of the UO, used to host and access syllabi, assignments, grades, discussion tools and more. Students and faculty can log in using their UO username and password to access and create content.

Classrooms

Classroom 103 (library classroom)

We have one seminar-style classroom with the capacity of 23. The use of the room is designated for academic activities. These activities will need to include a library component. To make a request to use the classroom during the day, please log into 25Live to submit your request. All requests will be reviewed within 24 hours. Room usage policy.

Other classrooms in GSH

The library does not have the ability to make a reservation for the other classrooms in the GSH (room 117, 123 (Great Hall), 130, 131, and 132). Classes are scheduled 8am - 5pm by the register. To request usage after 5pm, contact Catering and Conference Services.

Computers

There are 7 computers total in the Library Commons (LC). On the 1st floor in the main LC area there are 2 macs and 2 PCs located in carrels against the back of the room. After 5pm, across the way in room 118 there are 2 PCs, 1 mac, and 1 display with computer input that students could use (it is not available before 5pm). Group study rooms

We have 3 group study rooms: one with the capacity of 3 and 2 others with the capacity of 6 people. Each group study room includes a display screen with computer input and a white board wall. It is used on a first-come first-served basis but reservations can be made using 25Live, the library's room reservation system. Reservations are limited to 2-hour time slots and need to be made before 5pm Monday-Friday. On the first floor across the hall is a student study (room 118). This area is available to students after 5pm Monday-Friday and all day on Saturday and Sunday. There are 2 PCs, 1 mac, a display screen with computer input, and a white board. It is used on a first-come first-served basis; reservations cannot be made for this room.

Practice presentation room

Prepare for and practice your presentation in this room! The room has everything you'll need to give a great presentation. It is used on a first-come first-served basis but reservations can be made using 25Live. Reservations are limited to 2-hour time slots and need to be made before 5pm Monday-Friday. Printer, copier, scanner

A multipurpose color printer, photocopier, and scanner are available in the main LC area. Campus cash is required for printing. Black and white cost 8 cents ($0.08) per page and color printing cost 50 cents ($0.50) per page.

Wireless printing from your laptop is available after a small download. See the Library Systems page for more information about printing.

Videoconferencing

The LC supports videoconferencing for classroom use. Contact Yen Tran, manager of the LC for more details.
