Zotero is a free citation manager that allows you to save citation information while searching and browsing databases. Zotero makes it easy to save citations and enables you to create customized bibliographies in standard citation styles, including MLA, Chicago and APA. This workshop will introduce some of the key functions of Zotero such as: installing Zotero, adding citations to your Zotero library, organizing and managing your citations, creating a bibliography, and using the Microsoft Word plug-in to easily insert citations from Zotero.

History of Art and Architecture professor Jenny Lin’s book, "Above Sea: Contemporary Art, Urban Culture, and the Fashioning of Global Shanghai", is the first in-depth examination of contemporary Shanghai-based art and design. The book goes beyond contemporary art’s global hype to reveal the socio-political tensions accompanying the transition from semi-colonial capitalism to Maoist socialism to Communist Party-sponsored capitalism. This is a brown-bag event and attendees are welcome to bring their lunch.

So now you have a map. How do you embed it in a visually interesting story online? Use ESRI’s Story Map to create an online presentation that frames your geographic story. The Story Map workshop is hands-on, no previous experience is necessary, and you don't need to install anything ahead of time. We will spend the first hour learning about and exploring the Story Map web application. Remaining class time will be for you to explore ArcGIS Story Maps, brainstorm ideas and discuss ideas with classmates and instructors. Bring your laptop or use one of our desktops!

We will also feature a deep dive into Deaf/ASL poetry, the different forms it takes, and the importance to Deaf culture and community. This event is free and open to the public.
