Winner Announced! UO Libraries' 2016 Digital Wallpaper Design Competition
L-R: Library Systems Director Sara Brownmiller, Lee Li, and Dean of Libraries Adriene Lim
The UO Libraries is pleased to announce the winner of our annual contest to design new digital wallpaper for the library's workstations and internet kiosks.
Jaiqi (Lee) Li, a fifth-year landscape architecture major, created the winning design that will be used on 550+ computers throughout the libraries in the upcoming academic year. She receives a $300 prize and a certificate of recognition.
"I wanted to do something for the school before I leave," Li said. "I was inspired when I saw the duck footprints on the ground around campus. I thought it symbolizes our school and also steps towards the future."
Open to all current UO students, the digital wallpaper design competition is now in its fifth year. Library Systems Director Sara Brownmiller noted that it is a unique opportunity for the UO Libraries to celebrate student creativity. Scott Austed, manager of library public technology services, said that this year's contest was particularly competitive, with the top three designs very close in the final vote tally.
