Newly Available Collection: Department of History

The Department of History at the University of Oregon offers major, minor, and graduate. The collection contains correspondence, faculty meetings and minutes, department evaluations, subject files, files on historical associations, curriculum changes, files of Earl Pomeroy, Inter-university consortium files, archival information from Duniway, Beekman Chair files, National Defense Education Act, documents relating to history of faculty, and Data Recovery Project Lane County files.

Newly Available Collection: Department of Military Science and ROTC program records

The Department of Military Science was established at the University of Oregon in 1919, although the school had sponsored military training through the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program before the creation of a Military Science department. The collection includes department files and ROTC/Air Force ROTC information, correspondence and memoranda, program and academic requirement information, audiotapes, material by John Leader, scrapbooks, photographs, clippings, newsletters, student orientation and training, and protest information, 1917-1972.

The Micronesia and South Pacific Program was created in 1988 to assist with the development of sustainable communities in the Pacific islands; the program ended in 2001. The collection includes project and workshop files, library workshop and study abroad materials, surveys, program analysis and reviews, articles, a manuscript, marketing information, and video, 1979-2000.

Newly Available Collection: Lundquist College of Business (LCB) records

The University of Oregon began offering a business curriculum in 1884. Originally called the School of Commerce, it was renamed the School of Business Administration in 1920, and was renamed Lundquist College of Business (LCB) in honor of alumnus and generous donor Charles H. Lundquist, in 1993.

The collection contains records from the Dean’s Office, from departments, and from work with local businesses. Material includes economic studies, correspondence, annual reports, surveys, questionnaires, and staff meeting minutes.
