Newly Available Collection: Vietnam Feature Service records

The Vietnam Feature Service was the propaganda arm of the Joint United States Public Affairs Office that offered their stories gratis to newspapers and magazines in the U.S. The collection (1968-1971) contains feature stories written by Ted J. Bush, and others, regarding life in South Vietnam during the Vietnam War.

Newly Available Collection: Henry W. Young papers

Henry W. Young published newspapers in Kansas and Oregon, including the Coquille Valley Sentinel, newspaper of Coquille, Oregon, which he purchased in 1914. The collection (1863-1945) contains Sentinel records including ledgers, issues of the newspaper, and correspondence, as well as personal and business papers of Henry W. Young, including  writings, correspondence, speeches, bills submitted to the Kansas state senate, printed matter, and other Kansas and Oregon newspapers published by Young.

The Oregon State Industrial Accident Commission was established to oversee worker’s compensation distributions from the state’s industrial accident fund.¬† The collection consists of the business and administrative records of the Commission from 1935-1960.

The Wally Beau Orchestra was a “family dance band” consisting, primarily, of members of the Beau family of Fon Du Lac, Wisconsin.¬† The collection is entirely made up of musical arrangements.

Donald Wilson (1921- ) was elected to the Oregon Legislature in 1964, and twice re-elected, representing District 14 as a Republican. The collection contains meeting and committee minutes, correspondence, and annotated bills referred to the Judicial Council of Oregon, the Interim Committee on Public Lands, the House Judiciary Committee, the House Committee on State and Federal Affairs, and the House Committee on Elections and Reapportionment, as well as general correspondence with constituents and lobbyists.

Edwin A. Woodwoorth (1890-1966) became county superintendent of schools for Clackamas County, Oregon. The collection contains minutes and other material from national, regional and local education association meetings, as well as correspondence, publications, and daily desk diaries/journals.
