Newly Available Collection: Lauretta M. Cloran diaries

Lauretta M. Cloran was the wife of Timothy Cloran, professor of Romance Languages, University of Oregon. The collection contains thirty-nine diaries (1911-1954) and they include information such as social engagements, menus, entertainments, weather, and occasional local news.

Frederick Steiwer (1883-1939) became a lawyer who served as Oregon district attorney 1912-1916, was elected to the State Senate, served in WWI, and was elected to the U.S. Senate (1926-1938). The collection contains political campaign records, army records, correspondence and clippings, 1911-1933.

Benjamin Young was a salmon canner, banker, real estate promoter of Astoria, Oregon and worked for the British America Packing Company. The collection contains letterpress copy books that include personal and business correspondence, a record book of the Ben Young Land Company, a scrapbook, and twenty-one volumes of British America Packing Company journals, cash books, letterpress copy books, ledgers, and invoice books, 1882-1906.

The collection contains correspondence, conservation information, and educational materials and publications, 1918-1955.

The collection contains correspondence, speeches, publications, certificates, clippings, and photographs.
