Interactive Media Collaborates on New UO Virtual Tour

The UO Libraries’ Interactive Media group is currently collaborating with a team from Admissions, Student Orientation Programs and Web Communications to design and develop a new UO Virtual Tour. The new tour will be developed in phases with the first release utilizing video clips and images to introduce prospective students to campus life. Ideas for future phases include an interactive map, student blogs, student produced content and the ability to IM current students about their experience at the UO. The first release of the UO Virtual Tour is expected to launch at the beginning of summer term 2009.

November Video Production Highlights – CMET Records Interviews for CNN & NPR

During the month of November, CMET Video Production recorded interviews for NPR’s “Think Out Load” and CNN’s “AM Newsrooms” . ISDN remote-interviews (radio) and remote video uplinks are services CMET Video Production provides to the University of Oregon community, state agencies, non-profit organizations and news organizations.

  • On November 11th, CMET Video Production recorded an interview with Mary Geddry as part of NPR’s “Think Out Loud” segment on the state of veterans’ affairs today.
  • On November 19th, an interview with consumer advocate Ron Burley was recorded for CNN’s “AM Newsroom”. The topic was how to protect travel investments at a time where flight and trip cancellations are the norm.

UO Today Production Resumes

The CMET Video Production team has resumed production of “UO Today” for Fall 2008. Over the past year the team has produced 386 episodes. “UO Today” airs weekly in Woodburn Bend, Sunriver, Salem, Portland, Ashland-Medford, Eugene-Springfield and the Greater Land County. The program also airs on the Oregon Public Affairs Network and the Oregon Channel.
