Academic Workstations require users to login with a valid DuckID. These be found throughout the Knight Library (including the Cinema Studies Lab), as well in the Architecture & Allied Arts (AAA) Library, the Math Library, the Lloyd and Dorothy Rippey Library (OIMB), the Price Science Commons & Research Library, the Portland Library and Learning Commons. The UO Libraries also manages the computers in the McKenzie and EMU computing labs, and the Global Scholars Hall.
Both Windows and Mac computers are used for academic workstations, with software suites like Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, have large flat panel displays, and allow patrons to use the Internet, work on papers, and create presentations. Each machine can print to the library's laser black and white or color printers. Some computers have scanners attached.
Internet Only Kiosks are available to members of the general public for quick use of the Internet and to provide access to LibrarySearch and library electronic resources, such as databases, electronic journals and ebooks. General public are those users of the Library who are not UO students, faculty, emeriti, and staff.
Laptops are available for checkout to current UO students for up to four hours in the Price Science Commons & Research Library.
All users who access computers and network resources in the Libraries must follow the University’s Acceptable Use of Computing Resources Policy: https://it.uoregon.edu/acceptable-use-policy.
