Between July 2016 and October 2017, Special Collections and University Archives will be replacing our HVAC and fire suppression systems. Replacement of these critical systems is critical to insure that our materials are preserved in the best condition possible for many years to come. In general, this will not affect public services hours, though we will be closed on Saturdays for the duration of the project. The project may also affect our ability to provide access to our materials. Some materials, such as architectural drawings, a few manuscript collections, photographs may be inaccessible during the parts of the renovation period. Retrieving materials for your use will take longer than usual. Please contact us well before planning a research trip so that we can determine if the materials of interest are accessible and, if so, so that we can retrieve them ahead of your arrival.
The facilities project will begin on Monday, September 26, and will last at least through October 2017. During this time, we will have scheduled closures and will advertise them on our webpage with as much advance notice as possible.
We will not be able to fill any duplication requests for the first three weeks of July, July 3-21. The inability to fill requests could extend through a fourth week, i.e. through July 28.
We apologize for any inconvenience. Additonal updates will be added as they become available.
