Personalization - How do I change my Blackboard language
How do I change my Blackboard language?
There are two types of language settings in Blackboard; Course level, and User level. The default language is English, and unless enforced by instructors, or preferred by individual users, all elements will appear as English. Please note this does not translate all aspects of the Blackboard site, but rather only the default labels (navigation) and system-run elements. All enforced languages at the course level will override individual user preferences.
If you are an instructor trying to convert the course into a different language than the default English, go to the blue Control Panel and select Customization - Properties. Under Section 4, select your preferred language from the drop-down menu. If you want to force all students to view this course in the chosen language, select the "Enforce Language Pack" option as well. Without this, the language is essentially optional for all users, depending on their user preferences. You can also change you personal language pack settings the same way a student can, using either My Places (as described in the video) or My UO > Tools > Personal Info. If you choose a language at the bottom of the login page it also changes your personal language pack.

If you are a student trying to convert the view of your Blackboard account into a language other than the default English, log out and return to the main entry page at https://blackboard.uoregon.edu. At the bottom of the page, select the language you wish to view your entire account in. Blackboard will show all courses as this language unless forcefully enforced by an instructor on individual course sites. Or you can login and go to the My Places (as described in the video) or My UO > Tools > Personal Info. If you choose a language at the bottom of the login page it also changes your personal language pack. But we recommend that you change your language pack to "System Default".
