How do I set up a Blog or Journal?
Blogs and journals offer a way for the instructors to encourage students to write and reflect on what they are learning in class, and many instructors find them to be a valuable way to assess class participation. The primary difference between the two is that blogs are more oriented towards multiple contributors in a public space, whereas journals are personal to the student and are only viewable by the instructor and the writer.
Any feedback entered with a grade is visible to the student when they view the grade even if a journal is no longer visible. As long as the Grade Center column for the journal is visible they can see the feedback along with their grade.
