Blackboard Basics - My course is 'unavailable' What does that mean
My course is "unavailable". What does that mean?
When a coursesite is unavailable the instructor can enter it and add content, but it does not appear on the list of sites the students see. Since we create Blackboard sites for all UO courses each term (some of which are not using Blackboard) we initially mark coursesites as unavailable to give the instructor the option of deciding whether to use Blackboard. Instructors can make their coursesites available by using Control Panel -> Customization -> Properties > 2. Set Availability. This is a critical last step that you must take when you are ready to allow your students to use Blackboard.
- Scroll down to the Set Availability section of the page.
- For "Make Course Available," click "Yes" and then "Submit". You're done.

For further information see the Instructor's Manual, under Help in the control panel menu.
