The PRRLA 2015 annual meeting will be held at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon, United States, from October 19-21. The theme of this year’s meeting is: Greater Together: PRRLA Libraries at the Network Level, with the following subthemes:

  • Network-level systems and solutions, and their impact on libraries
  • Multi-institutional digital library initiatives
  • Ideas and projects related to Pacific Rim research, data, and services involving libraries
  • Cross-institutional service initiatives (e.g., related to: international students from some PRRLA institutions to other PRRLA members; visiting scholars; article and book loan reciprocal service; faculty and student visits; etc.)

The cut-off date for conference registration was September 7.

Call for Presentation Proposals: Deadline extended to July 20

The 2015 PRRLA Program Planning Committee is pleased to announce the theme of the 2015 meeting, Greater Together: PRRLA Libraries at the Network Level, and issues this call for presentation proposals. Thanks to those of you who have already submitted presentation proposals. We would like to see more proposals from PRRLA members, however, so we are extending our proposal deadline to the end of day, Monday, July 20, 2015.  We strongly encourage you to submit a proposal if you have not done so already, as we want to learn about the exciting initiatives and successes at your library!

We welcome proposals for presentations at the Meeting from all members. Proposals should include:

  • Presentation title
  • Presenters’ names, titles, and institutional affiliation
  • A brief abstract (200 words or so) of the proposed presentation
  • Brief biographical notes of the presenters
  • Identification of one or more of the following subthemes that the presentation will address.

Meeting subthemes:

  • Network-level systems and solutions, and their impact on libraries
  • Multi-institutional digital library initiatives
  • Ideas and projects related to Pacific Rim research, data, and services involving libraries
  • Cross-institutional service initiatives (e.g., related to: international students from some PRRLA institutions to other PRRLA members; visiting scholars; article and book loan reciprocal service; faculty and student visits; etc.)

Proposals should be send to: Adriene Lim, Program Planning Committee Chair, (alim@uoregon.edu), by Monday, July 20, 2015. Twelve to fourteen program presentations will be scheduled, at approximately 20 minutes each with 10 minutes for questions and answers. The Program Planning Committee will review all the submissions and notify presenters by Friday, July 31, 2015.

The 2015 PRDLA Program Planning Committee is comprised of the following individuals:

  • Brian Flaherty, Associate University Librarian, The University of Auckland
  • Nie Hua (Heather), Deputy Library Director, Peking University
  • Adriene Lim, Dean of Libraries, University of Oregon
  • Qiang Zhu, Director of the Library, Peking University
