Russian and Comparative Literature Symposium Honors James Rice
Friday, May 16, 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
A symposium entitled "Russian and Comparative Literature in Memory of James L. Rice" will be held on Friday, May 16, starting at 9:30 a.m. in Gerlinger Lounge on the University of Oregon campus.
Jim Rice was was a world-renowned philologist-Slavicist who worked at the University of Oregon as a professor of Russian language and literature from 1976 to 2001.

A special exhibit, “Russian Literature through the Lens of James Rice,” will be on display in the exhibit cases fronting the Browsing Room in Knight Library through June 2014.
The symposium is free and open to the public.
The symposium is sponsored by the UO Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies Program; Department of Comparative Literature; College of Arts and Sciences; Oregon Humanities Center; Robert D. Clark Honors College; and the UO Libraries.
