The UO's Teaching Effectiveness Program will offer a workshop for faculty members and GTFs entitled "Activating Undergraduate Education with the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, Museum of Natural and Cultural History, and Special Collections" on Monday, May 12, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.in Knight Library's Browsing Room.

The session will look at the UO's remarkable museums and Special Collections and University Archives to demonstrate how students have used these campus resources to pursue questions that fascinate them rather than "receive" education through a series of imposed course and institutional requirements. Faculty members and staff from the museums and Special Collections will pair up to share particular class assignments that have used these resources to turn students into researchers, collectors, archivists, explorers, and contributors.
