Elizabeth Peterson Is UO Libraries' 2013 Solari Recognition Award Winner
Elizabeth Peterson, humanities/literature librarian, who is also a subject specialist for cinema studies, has been named the recipient of the library's 2013 Solari Recognition Award. The award is given to librarians who demonstrate a record of excellence in professional service to the university community and who have made significant contributions in the fields of librarianship or information technology to a regional, national, or international community of scholars.
Peterson was recognized for authoring the book Tribal Libraries in the United States: A Directory of American Indian and Alaska Native Facilities, publishing a number of articles in peer-reviewed journals, presenting conference papers, and receiving two grant awards from national funding sources.
The award announcement describes her as a “researcher and scholar whose primary strengths are curiosity, tenacity, and intellectual creativity.”
