Trial Access to Specialty Databases Available
One factor UO librarians and subject specialists consider when deciding on which resources to add to the library's collections is user response to trial databases. Trial databases offer free access for a given period to journal articles and other resources covering many disciplines and special interests—everything from New World cinema to Russian mass media to sports medicine. UO students, faculty, and staff can explore the databases during the free trial period and provide feedback on their usefulness.
Whether your cup of tea is business, media and entertainment, sports, statistics, international studies, or another discipline, the UO Libraries may have a trial database that will interest you. Check back often on the Trial Databases webpage at http://libweb.uoregon.edu/general/resources/trial-databases.html to see what is currently being offered. Trial access to these databases generally last for a few weeks.
Once you’ve used a trial database, you can provide the UO Libraries with feedback here: http://library.uoregon.edu/node/2705. This feedback is valuable and can help influence the Libraries to purchase full subscriptions to your favorite databases.
