, produced by UO Housing and cosponsored by the UO Libraries, is the flagship living-learning series within the residential curriculum of University Housing. The series offers a unique forum for exploring a diversity of academic, political, and popular culture topics. All Community Conversation events are free and open to the public.

If you are unable to attend any of the Community Conversations sessions, they air on Channel 23 on the Wednesday following the event, from 8:30 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. A selection of previous Community Conversations is streamed and can be viewed on demand on the UO Channel

The UO Libraries plays an important collaborative role in Community Conversations, with several library staff members contributing to the programs. The library also provides suggested readings and multimedia presentations to enhance the sessions.

Worried about censorship? Everything from books, films and internet have been censored. Find out what censorship looked like in the past and where it is heading. The conversation will focus on what suppression of information looks like and what you can do to prevent it.

Come join us for a spectacular panel about photo manipulation. We will explore the ethics of manipulating photos, how photography has evolved over the decades, and the creative minds behind the art.
 
 
University Underground

Central Power Station
 
Learn about the infrastructure of the UO and sign up for an underground tour of the east campus tunnels. The University of Oregon’s Central Power Station (CPS) is responsible for the maintenance of five miles of tunnels that produce 30% of the campus electrical demand and steam production. Join us for an in-depth tour of CPS and the tunnels connected to it.

Out in the Silence is a film and campaign for fairness and equality in rural, small-town America that raises awareness of the LGBT community. Watch the film, ask experts questions, and learn about on-campus resources and how to be an active member at the University of Oregon.
