Prof. of Trumpet to Speak Oct. 10 on Composing Music for Media
UO Associate Professor of Trumpet Brian McWhorter will give an informal talk on Composing Music for Media in Knight Library’s Collaboration Room 122 on Wednesday, October 10, from 4 – 5 pm. This is a unique opportunity to learn what it takes to make a living composing and making music for media. McWhorter is a prominent musician with degrees in trumpet performance from UO and The Julliard School. He has contributed to over 25 musical albums, and he has recorded music for a variety of films, television, and radio broadcasts. McWhorter is also the co-artistic director of Beta Collide, a new music ensemble.
This talk is the first event in the Working Filmmaker Series presented by Cinema Studies. The event is cosponsored by the UO Libraries and the School of Music.
