Library Hosts Tours, Activities during Week of Welcome
Get acquainted with your friendly, helpful librarians and the great resources available to you at the UO Libraries during the Week of Welcome. Knight Library, the Architecture and Allied Arts Library, and the Science Library will offer tours and informational sessions on Thurs., Sept. 20, and Fri., Sept. 21.
And don’t miss the Science Library’s special event, Wild Duck Electromagnetic Carbonic Acid Test Extravaganza, on Fri., Sept. 21.

International Students Reception, Knight Library Browsing Room
The UO Libraries staff welcomes all international students for a special reception. Enjoy a sweet treat during a brief orientation on how the library and librarians can contribute to your academic success. Take a tour of Knight Library and meet some of our our expert librarians. Be there on time for a special surprise!

Architecture and Allied Arts Library Tour, 200 Lawrence Hall
Take a guided tour of the AAA Library’s collections, including beautiful rare books, and learn about services for those studying architecture, the visual arts, and art history.

Science Library Tour, Science Library, Onyx Bridge
Plan to major in one of the sciences? Take a guided spin around the Science Library, get to know the resources in the Information Technology Center, and meet the librarians. Meet near the circulation desk in the Science Library on the lower level of Onyx Bridge.

Wild Duck Electromagnetic Carbonic Acid Test Extravaganza

Come see your friendly neighborhood spider fangs magnified 20,000 times; watch chemicals melt and boil simultaneously and then freeze at the flick of a finger. Experience light you can’t see, quantum phenomena in action, and possible energy sources for the future. Run your fingers along the bones of Oregon’s ancient wildlife. And watch—live—as we create volcanic eruptions that shoot soda to the roof. Did we mention free pizza and Coke?—Mentos included!
