Stephanie Wood, director of Wired Humanities Projects at the University of Oregon Libraries, has been selected for a Fulbright Specialists project in Berlin, Germany, at the Ethnologisches Museum, from July 25 to August 15, 2012. Wood will work with various repositories in Berlin to help select and encourage the creation of digital collections of primary source materials relating to Mesoamerican cultures and their histories. She is an advisor to the Getty Research Portal at the Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles, California, and is helping develop and identify digital collections that will broaden the global scope of that portal.

Wood is one of more than 400 U.S. faculty and professionals who will travel abroad this year through the Fulbright Specialists Program. Created in 2000 to complement the traditional Fulbright Scholar Program, the specialists program provides short-term academic opportunities (two to six weeks) to prominent U.S. faculty and professionals to support curricular and faculty development and institutional planning at postsecondary, academic institutions around the world.
