The UO Libraries Interlibrary Loan unit has been awarded three stars by the Rethinking Resource Sharing Initiative.  Three stars are awarded to institutions who participate in 80% or more of activities, services and initiatives that the RRSI has identified as “outstanding.”

OUR Journal Seeks Submissions of Student Research

The Oregon Undergraduate Research Journal (OUR Journal) is an online, open access undergraduate research journal at the University of Oregon developed by students at the UO, who carry out all facets of its operation. The publication showcases some of the best research and writing by UO undergraduates. OUR Journal just launched its third issue (Volume 3, Number 1), which can be accessed at http://journals.oregondigital.org/OURJ.

Trial Access to Specialty Databases Available

Trial Access to Specialty Databases Available

One factor UO librarians and subject specialists consider when deciding on which resources to add to the library's collections is user response to trial databases. Trial databases offer free access for a given period to journal articles and other resources covering many disciplines and special interests—everything from New World cinema to Russian mass media to sports medicine. UO students, faculty, and staff can explore the databases during the free trial period and provide feedback on their usefulness.

The UO Libraries website will be down beginning at 9:30 p.m. Friday evening, Nov. 2. The website is expected to be back online by 1 a.m. Saturday morning.

Knight Library to Host Oregon Undergraduate Research Journal Publication Party on Nov. 8

A publication party to celebrate the release of OUR Journal's third issue will take place on Thursday, November 8, at 4 p.m., in the Knight Library Browsing Room. The event is open to UO faculty, staff, and students and will feature previews of the new issue. Attendees will be able to meet editors and authors, as well as learn about the submission and publication process.
