Looking for a career in the video game industry? Come hear and ask questions of Pipeworks art director Peter King, game designer Amor Estandian, and senior producer Mike Kruse to learn about how they got started working in the video game industry. The session is scheduled for Thursday, April 18, at 7 p.m.
Everyone is invited to a reception on Wednesday, April 17, celebrating the availability of the UO Libraries’ new Popular Reading Collection, a selection of “fun reading” titles available for a 3-week, nonrenewable loan period to UO students, faculty, and staff.
The reception will be held in the South Reading Room on the second floor of Knight Library from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Each term throughout the year, the UO's Cinema Studies Program creates original programming to connect students with industry professionals and media scholars. Key programs scheduled for spring 2013 include the FILM on FILM Series, Remakes, and Cinematheque's film series.

As part of the UO Cinema Studies Program Scholar Viewpoint Series, Georgia State University professor Angelo Restivo will speak on Michelangelo Antonioni's film Blow-Up on Friday, April 12, at 7 p.m. in Prince Lucien Campbell Hall Room 180.

Community Conversations, produced by UO Housing and cosponsored by the UO Libraries, is the flagship living-learning series within the residential curriculum of University Housing. The series offers a unique forum for exploring a diversity of academic, political, and popular culture topics.
Four individual students and one team of nine students have been named winners in this year’s Undergraduate Research Awards competition sponsored by the University of Oregon Libraries.
The annual competitive program honors UO students who produced outstanding original research and scholarship in the previous calendar year using resources available through the UO Libraries.
A luncheon honoring the winners is planned for April 25.
Two sprawling murals that have been with UO Libraries since its opening in 1937 are getting a second look.
The Digital Scholarship Center and UO Libraries have launched an art project on murals by Oregon artists Albert and Arthur Runquist that depict figures and ideas about race and ethnicity that some may no longer find acceptable.
Upgrades and maintenance to servers at the UO Libraries will cause the library website (library.uoregon.edu) to be unavailable on Wednesday, March 27, from 7-10 p.m.
On Saturday, April 6, the UO Libraries will host a talk by Robert Yarber, executive director of the Morris Graves Foundation, entitled “Morris Graves: The Man, the Myth, the Mystery” from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in Knight Library’s Browsing Room.
