Knight Library Introduces Free Short-Term Storage Lockers

lockers imageHave you ever wished for a convenient and secure way to protect your belongings in the Knight Library? The UO Libraries are pleased to introduce 63 free storage lockers for UO students, faculty, and staff. The new lockers are available on a first-come, first-served basis for short-term storage (less than 24 hours).

Former Vermont governor and U.S. ambassador to Switzerland Madeleine Kunin will give a free public talk entitled “Finding a Work/Life Balance: How Can It Be Sustained?” in Knight Library’s Browsing Room on Monday, October 8, at 4 p.m.

Library Hosts Film Preservation Workshop in Portland Oct. 27

The University of Oregon Libraries will host a one-day workshop in basic film preservation on Sat., Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the UO Portland’s White Stag Block, 70 NW Couch St. The workshop is designed for people working in archives, historical societies, libraries, and other institutions that have film collections but no one with expertise to handle it properly.

An exhibit featuring the photographic work of Dan Powell, an associate professor in the University of Oregon’s Department of Art, is on display through September in the east and west entryway corridors of Knight Library. Powell is a widely exhibited fine art photographer and has taught at the University of Oregon since 1987.
