Deborah Carver is closing the book on her outstanding career after more than 23 years at the University of Oregon Libraries. Carver, the Philip H. Knight Dean of Libraries, retired at the end of April.

At her retirement celebration on April 21, representatives from across campus, including Provost Scott Coltrane, former Provost Lorraine Davis and members of the UO Libraries faculty, honored Carver’s service and wished her the best in her future endeavors.

This fall, you can learn about the future impact of 3-D printing in your field while carrying out your own 3-D printing project in a course offered by Science Librarian Dean Walton.

Entitled “Make!—Research and 3-D Object,” the 1-credit, P/NP course will allow you to explore, research, design, and fuse as you learn to print in 3-D.

The Oregon Undergraduate Research Journal (OUR Journal) is an online, open access undergraduate research journal developed by students at the University of Oregon. Faculty Asked to Nominate Outstanding Undergraduate Research Projects Completed in Spring 2014

Each year through its Undergraduate Research Awards program, the UO Libraries recognizes UO students who complete outstanding research projects using library resources and services. Students can earn up to $1,500 for their award-winning papers, projects, and theses.

Faculty members whose students have produced high-quality research papers or projects using library resources are encouraged to nominate students they believe warrant consideration for an award.

Each year through its Undergraduate Research Awards program, the UO Libraries recognizes UO undergraduates who produce high-quality research projects using the library's extensive resources and services. The amount of the awards typically ranges from $1,000 to $1,500.
