Library Hosts Tours, Activities during Week of Welcome

Get acquainted with your friendly, helpful librarians and the great resources available to you at the UO Libraries during the Week of Welcome. Knight Library, the Architecture and Allied Arts Library, and the Science Library will offer tours and informational sessions on Thurs., Sept. 20, and Fri., Sept. 21.

And don’t miss the Science Library’s special event, Wild Duck Electromagnetic Carbonic Acid Test Extravaganza, on Fri., Sept. 21.

A reception for international students is on tap for Tues., Sept. 18.

DVD and Laserdisc Collections Now Housed in the Douglass Listening Room

DVD and Laserdisc Collections Now Housed in the Douglass Listening Room

The DVD and laserdisc collections formerly housed in Room 101 in Knight Library have been moved to the Douglass Listening Room on the third floor of the library. All collections in the Douglass Listening Room can be checked out at that location or can be paged for checkout at the Knight Checkout/Reserve Desk.

Videotapes should be requested at the Knight Checkout/Reserve Desk. Videos requested for reserve will be shelved in the Douglass Room.

Knight Reserves Relocated to Checkout/Information Desk

Effective immediately, materials kept on reserve in Knight Library have been relocated to the Checkout/Information Desk on the first floor. If you wish to check out a reserve item, please go to that desk.

Service for Reserves was formerly located in Room 101.

Library’s Stephanie Wood Selected for Fulbright Specialists Project

Library’s Stephanie Wood Selected for Fulbright Specialists Project

Stephanie Wood, director of Wired Humanities Projects at the University of Oregon Libraries, has been selected for a Fulbright Specialists project in Berlin, Germany, at the Ethnologisches Museum, from July 25 to August 15, 2012. Wood will work with various repositories in Berlin to help select and encourage the creation of digital collections of primary source materials relating to Mesoamerican cultures and their histories. She is an advisor to the Getty Research Portal at the Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles, California, and is helping develop and identify digital collections that will broaden the global scope of that portal.
